In Their Own Words:

  • What do you like about the area where you live? What do you like about the neighborhood?
    • West Seattle is a fantastic community to be part of.  Our specific location Belvidere / Luna Park provides easy access to all the amazing neighborhoods: Admiral, Alki, and the Alaska Junction to name a few.  Great dining and entertainment options are endless, from a local diner, Luna Park Café, to fine dining in a century-old log cabin, Il Nido. A wide variety of grocers, local cafes, and a weekly year-round farmers market are just around the corner. True Value Hardware, West Seattle Nursery, Husky Deli, and Bakery Nouveau are locally owned businesses serving our community. Being close to the Elliot Bay side of West Seattle makes for easy traveling to regional attractions and employment.  A short walk to an express bus route to downtown Seattle or a shuttle to the commuter Water Taxi makes it easy to get around without the hassle of driving and finding parking in the city.  Boeing Field and SeaTac are also just minutes away.
  • What are the benefits of your lot?
    • The professionally designed landscaping in the backyard turned that area into a mini oasis with a large flagstone patio, deck, and low maintenance plants that provide interest year-round. No lawn to mow! A ring of evergreen trees provides nearly complete privacy and allows for outdoor living. Where do you spend the most time in your home? We live mostly on the main (top) floor due to the wonderful open floor plan and access to a deck with views of the bridge, port, and SODO. We have hosted sit-down dinners here for up to 26 people and not felt crowded. The recently remodeled downstairs apartment provides a second option and stays comfortably cool on the hottest summer days. It also provides access to the great outdoor living space mentioned above.
  • What is your favorite part of the kitchen?
    • Everything! There are tons of beautiful cherry cabinets that go all the way up to the 9-foot ceiling. The dramatic roofline brings in wonderful natural light through windows that soar 11 feet above the countertops. There is plenty of room for multiple cooks to team up on meals, and a breakfast bar for the spectators. The pantry provides plenty of storage to let a family ride out a pandemic without ever leaving the house! (if they want to). The stovetop on the Viking range provides controlled heat that can sear the best steaks or gently simmer a delicate omelet. The convection oven bakes and roasts quickly and beautifully. The GE Cafe series dishwasher runs so quietly that dishes can be washed without even knowing it is running. The heavy-gauge stainless sink is almost large enough to bathe in, and the new Insinkerator disposal can handle just about anything quietly and quickly. The honed granite countertops are lit by under-cabinet lights.

  • What do you enjoy about the master bedroom?
    • The home is so well insulated that almost no outdoor sound comes in when the doors and windows are closed. The private deck has enough room to enjoy your morning coffee in private while watching the sunrise. The fully tiled shower in the master suite has two shower heads and is large enough for four people.
  • Anything else you can tell us about your home that makes it unique?
    • The home is an innovative design, with the main living area and spacious vaulted ceilings on the top floor. The master suite plus two additional bedrooms and an office area on the middle level, along with the laundry room for easy access. The bottom floor is a daylight basement apartment with a bright spacious living area, second kitchen, full bathroom, bedroom, second laundry area, and bedroom, ideal for a MIL or Aupair living space. Another unique feature is the use of glass doors to ensure complete privacy while maximizing the natural light.
  • When was the furnace last serviced?
    • There is no furnace. The home is heated by in-floor radiant heat throughout, with the heat source being two hot water heaters.
  • When was your roof last replaced?
    • It is original from the construction in 2008. We inspect it and apply moss prevention annually.
  • When was your hot water heater last replaced?
    • We have two hot water tanks to cover the heating and hot water needs for the home. They are also original from 2008.
